Never got a chance to share these earlier this month with everything going on, but I had the opportunity to redesign and expand the packaging design for @seapinebrewing fresh hop beers this season! Fresh hop beers (for anyone not familiar) have to use hops that are thrown in the brew kettle within 24hrs of harvest. This means that all these beers are already sold out by the time I’m finally posting about them 🥲 If you’re in the Seattle area, definitely look out for these next year! #freshhop #seattlecraftbeer #labeldesign #packagingdesign

I think by now everyone has seen the insane footage and stories that have come out of WNC after Hurricane Helene in the last 3 weeks. I grew up in Florida and been through dozens of hurricanes and I’ve never seen anything like what has happened to Asheville and the surrounding towns. It’s hard to find the words to describe or help the situation, but WNC represents so much to so many people and it’s amazing to see how much energy and resources are being spent to help. From a distance it’s hard to help and make a significant difference, but I did have the pleasure of working with @hiwirebrewing_wilm to design a few illustrations for some fundraising shirts. Definitely looking for more opportunities to donate art and design time to anyone in the area that needs it! Asheville and the mountain towns around it represent so much to me on both a professional and personal level. Wether it was going to YMCA camp in Black Mountain in high school, drinking some of the best beer in the country with friends at breweries, hiking snow covered mountains for the first time, or the numerous design and mural opportunities I’ve had there, it’ll always be one of my favorite places in the world and it’s heartbreaking to see what has happened there. Based on everything I’ve heard and seen it’s going to be a long road to rebuild and recover, but it certainly seems like something the people of Western North Carolina will be able to do with the long term support of anyone capable of helping! Much love and support to everyone I know still over there, hopefully I can come up for a beer and a hangout soon ❤️

Got a couple new packaging projects for your viewing pleasure! These are two new labels for @seapinebrewing in Seattle, Washington. If you’re in SODO definitely get your ass down there for a beer 😎 I didn’t technically go to school for graphic design, so I’ve slowly had to teach myself throughout the years. It’s definitely a “fake it until you make it” scenario filled with lots of imposter syndrome, but, in the last half a decade, I think the effort has finally started to payoff. My background is fine art so my early design career was filled with mostly trying to figure out how to digitally doodle and it’s nice to finally broaden my portfolio to include projects that are much more complex on a typography, branding and print process bases. These projects are just a sample of all the work I’ve been apart of in the last 9 months with @wickedweedbrewing! Most don’t make for good IG reels and it feels like that’s all we’re supposed to make as creatives on these platforms now, but definitely wanted to share them in a good ole fashioned carousel post. It’s crazy coming back to Wicked Weed after all this time and being able to use a much broader graphic design skill set to help out on such a wide range of projects! It’s also amazing being able to work with some of the OG marketing team to create everything from menus, posters and sales sheets to NFL merchandise, PPC ads and large scale email campaigns. @seapinebrewing officially has new, full-print, 12 oz cans! Basically we took the original label sticker designs for their 16oz packaging and reimagined the artwork and branding layout to work with the smaller area. While this doesn’t represent a huge shift from the original designs, it does reflect a huge amount of larger scale graphic design challenges and marketing goals. These challenges and goals, that happen behind the scenes, have definitely grown in greater importance to me as my design career has matured and broadened. We’ll continue to rollout and show off more projects as they come to life!
